Set in Tokyo, the story follows Kojima Haruta, a 40-year-old man who hits the rock bottom as he fell mentally ill which led him to lose his job, family, and even a place to live. After a certain turn of events, Haruta encounters Otake Shin, the owner of an antique furniture shop who takes Haruta in and hires him as a furniture repairman in the shop. Touched by such kindness, Haruta promised himself to try to put his life back together but kept himself isolated in order to avoid any additional stress being created. However, things suddenly starts to change as Haruta encounters Hayama Miyako, a 26-year-old woman who has a tendency to become overly dependent and extremely obsessed with a man she falls in love with.

There are three sisters: 29-year-old Sachi Kouda, 22-year-old Yoshino Kouda and 19-year-old Chika Kouda. They live at a house in Kamakura, Japanese. Their house was left by their grandmother. One day, they receive news of their father's death. When the sisters were young, their parents divorced and their father left them. They haven't seen their father in 15 years. Upon hearing the news on their father's death, the younger sisters, Yoshino and Chika, do not feel anything, because they hardly have any memories of him. Oldest sister Sachi is different. She can't forgive her father, because she remembers him clearly. Sachi decides not to attend her father's funeral and asks her two younger sisters to attend. At the funeral, the two younger sisters meet their stepsister Suzu Asano. She is a middle school student. Yoshino is aware that her father's wife is not Suzu's real mother and Suzu's future is uncertain. Yoshino sends a letter about Suzu to her oldest sister Sachi. After reading the letter, Sachi attends the funeral. Soon, Sachi invites Suzu to live with and Suzu accepts. The four sisters begin to live together.

Kanna Seto lost her childhood friend Haruta in a car accident when she was a freshman in high school. Carrying the emotional pain from that incident throughout her life, Kanna is still wounded as an adult. Kanna then meets Roku Akazawa, who also carries a painful experience from his past. When Roku was an elementary school student, a girl who was with him got into an accident and died. Because of that incident, Roku carries a heavy sense of guilt. Roku then tries to make Kanna feel love again. Based on the manga series "Kiyoku Yawaku" by Ryo Ikuemi (published in Cookie magazine from January, 2004 - January 2010). The manga series consists of 10 different love stories and the movie "Kiyoku Yawaku" is based on the last episode "Kanna story".
