Long thought to be one of the lost treasures of Japanese cinema that had been destroyed by MacArthur’s Occupation forces, this brilliant portrait of samurai warlord Date Masamune has recently been found and restored to its original form in a digital print that brings this classic tale to DVD with English subtitles. From his early youth as an aggressive warrior, through battles upon battles until he had subdued virtually all of his enemies, only to fall short of taking over the country because he had been born too late this is an exciting and valuable motion picture. Great warlord action abounds throughout with a story that must be told!
My Date with a Vampire II is a 1999 Hong Kong television series produced by ATV as a sequel to My Date with a Vampire (1998), but with a completely new story. It was followed by My Date with a Vampire III in 2004. The series starred many cast members from the first season. Like the first season, My Date with a Vampire II also blends aspects of the jiangshi (Chinese "hopping" vampire) with those of western vampires, while injecting elements of Chinese mythology and modern horror legends, but in this season, there is an additional touch of eschatology
The story in the second season is a reboot of the first season but the main characters' names and roles are still similar to those in the first season. Some new characters and new subplots are also introduced in this season.
At the end of My Date with a Vampire, the buddha Vairocana grants Fong Kwok-wah (Fong Tin-yau) his wish to travel back in time and be a vampire no more. In My Date with a Vampire II, Fong Kwok-wah and Yamamoto Ichifu clash again in 1938 and their fight arouses the attention of Cheung San (the progenitor of all vampires), who interrupts the fight. Just as Cheung San is about to bite the two men and turn them into vampires, Ma Dan-na appears and attacks Cheung San, driving him away, thus sparing Fong and Yamamoto from their fates. Not long later, Fong agrees to help Ma hunt down and destroy Cheung San. They succeed in trapping Cheung San but he breaks free and bites Fong and the boy Fuk-sang (who is nearby), transforming them into vampires.
Fong Kwok-wah and Fuk-sang survive until the present-day (1990s) and their physical appearances have not changed since 60 years ago. However, before Fong became a vampire, he already had a son with his wife Sau, so he now has a grandson named Fong Tin-yau. Fong Tin-yau is killed in an incident in England so Fong Kwok-wah impersonates his grandson. He meets Ma Siu-ling (a descendant of Ma Dan-na), the heiress to a clan of ghostbusters who have dedicated themselves to ridding the world of evil supernatural beings. Fong starts a romance with Ma.

From his early days as a wild youth in Oshu, through his development as one of the great warlords during Japan's historic 'Sengoku' Period (Era Of Warring Clans), this is the story of Date Masamune, the 'One-eyed Dragon'.
Shunned by his mother, he always had to prove himself worthy of his position as heir, and then leader. A tremendous story taken from the pages of history, starring the uniquely talented Shibata Kyohei, who was best known for his portrayal of Hideyoshi in 'Taikoki', this made for television movie is not to be missed.
The action abounds as he learns to be a master of the battlefield while each feudal lord seeks to assume control of Japan.
